i have separate physical disks for Vista & Ubuntu. GRUB installed on Ubuntu hdd, Vista loader is on vista hdd. How with EasyBCD i can setup dual boot? I tried do this:
Add/Remove Entries -> Linux -> Grub -> choosed right hdd with ubuntu -> GRUB isn't installed unchecked -> Add Entry. Result - Ubuntu do not load, say something about boot manager not found.

Hi Raven, welcome to NST.
See the last point of the sticky thread.
If Ubuntu is on a different HDD from Vista, you must tick the "grub isn't ......." box.
That message will be clarified in a newer build.
Try deleting the entry and add it again with the tick.

Terry's instructions take place inside EasyBCD back in Windows, not at the grub prompt. Please reboot your computer into Windows, and follow Terry's instructions.

Get 2.0 Beta of EasyBCD, which supports UUID lines (1.7.2 version and earlier versions don't), and re-add the Linux entry, remembering to select the "Grub is not installed" box.
If its still not booting after that, then please boot from your LiveCD, and copy over the contents of the /boot/grub/menu.lst on your Ubuntu partition, into your next post.

i can post it without booting from livecd. here it is:
# menu.lst - See: grub(8), info grub, update-grub(8)
# grub-install(8), grub-floppy(8),
# grub-md5-crypt, /usr/share/doc/grub
# and /usr/share/doc/grub-doc/.

## default num
# Set the default entry to the entry number NUM. Numbering starts from 0, and
# the entry number 0 is the default if the command is not used.

# You can specify 'saved' instead of a number. In this case, the default entry
# is the entry saved with the command 'savedefault'.
# WARNING: If you are using dmraid do not use 'savedefault' or your
# array will desync and will not let you boot your system.

Can you verify that you are using EasyBCD 2.0, as specified in the sticky link I gave you, and reiterated since by Jake.
EasyBCD 1.7 will not work for any Ubuntu newer than 8.04 because of grub syntax changes.
