I have two HDDs: one on SATA 0 and the other on SATA 1 :both have booting working VISTA OSs

either one can boot if i disconnect the other.

SATA 0 is BIOS first boot
Vista on SATA 0 sees the SATA 1 HDD
EasyBCd is installed on SATA 0 HDD

Cannot get the option to choice which HDD (VISTA OS) to boot from.

Thanks

Hi bert2007, welcome to NST

Have you tried adding a new Vista entry using EasyBCD pointing to the second drive for your second instance of Vista? This should work fine...
If for some reason it doesn't however, keep both drives connected and preform startup repair from a vista dvd/recovery disc.

What kind of symptons do you get when you select the new entry? Post your debug details from EasyBCD.

Please Copy / Paste the output from EasyBCD "display settings" in detailed (debug) mode.

In a command prompt:

Code:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes

The menu now should display regardless of how many entries it has. Is there more than one entry listed?

this showed just one option:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes

still trying to see other VISTA on SATA1

Notice the "device" property for the last entry is not set.

Go to EasyBCD -> Change Settings and set the right drive for that entry.
