Hello

I want to remove ubantu (linux operatiing system) which I installed with windows XP. I downloaded easy BCD latest version 2.0.2 from newsmart website.

After installing easy BCD. I opened and then I got the below messages.

"Error opening BCD registry
The boot configuration could not be opened etc.
Would like to manually open BCD registry for easy BCD to manage"

I views the neosmart threads.
I confirmed that my windows XP got installed with NET 2.0 frame work.
I still face the same problem as above.
I want to get rid of Ubantu from my Windows XP. I also do not have Vista or Window 7 in my machine.
Can any one help?
How to manually open BCD registry?

Regards

If you used the Wubi installer to install Ubuntu inside of Windows XP, you can go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel to remove it.

If you installed Ubuntu by booting from the LiveCD, do this instead:

EasyBCD is giving you that message because you do not have Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed. I think EasyBCD well allow you to use it in a limited mode though. Go to Bootloader Setup > install the XP bootloader to the MBR > Write MBR. If you reboot and XP boots right up without a menu you should be safe to delete/reformat Ubuntu's partition to use for other purposes.
