Easy question of the day!

In reference to the highlighted area below, Is that only if the installer is using a original xp installation disc? Ive never done that step, and always installed XP on SATA drives with no problems, but I use a XP-SP2 OEM disc.

SATA support was included in SP2 (my XP's new enough to install natively onto SATA too).
I think the wiki article pre-dates it.
 
well that's great, everything I know about computers is trial and error. and I simply never had a use for the F6 menu.
Just wanted to be sure I wasn't skipping a step that could benefit my system in some way.
