EasyBCD 1.7.2 and 2.0 beta crashing

#1
I'm trying to dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7 on my PC on two different drives. I have Windows 7 installed, and I just formatted my Vista drive and installed XP on it. The boot loader no longer comes up, and instead my PC automatically boots into XP. I tried the 1.7.2 and last 2.0 beta versions of EasyBCD and whenever I try and add XP as an entry, I get an unhandled exception error. If I delete all my entries and then add a Windows 7 entry under my C:/ drive, I get no problem. If I try to add it under D:/, I get the error. If I delete all entries and try to add the Windows XP entry first, I get a send/don't send error.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hi Faux, welcome to NST.
To run EasyBCD on XP, you must first install NET 2.0 framework. (optional through Windows Update).

Boot the W7 DVD, select "repair your computer" then "startup repair"
Do this 3 times.
Your W7 should now be booting.
Install EasyBCD2.0 latest build (not 1.7) on W7
Add an entry for XP
Let EasyBCD auto-configure the XP boot
Don't change the disk assignment it defines (it knows what it's doing)
