EASYBCD doesn´t work

New Member
First i must excuse my bad English, i´m 61 years old and from Germany.
My problem is the following:
After installation i want to excecute EasyBCD, but the following message appears:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden-
Would you like to manually load a BCD registry for EasyBCD to manage?
If i click yes, a file NeoSmart.bcd located in EasyBCD/profiles is seen, i do a dobbleclick then EasyBCD opens and i can do my settings.
First question: Where must the the NeoSmart.bcd file be located, that i automaticly loads the configuration.
If i do now my settings - f.e. add a 2nd partiton to boot, i can do all, install save, but if I restart, there is no possibility to chose where to boot from, it always come the 1st bootsequence.
I also tried to deinstall an reinstall EasyBCD, but the same problems, mainly always the question about Neosmart.bcd.
Please help, but write for me excactly that i can unterstand.
Best greetings
Hello Rolf,

You should *not* select the NeoSmart.bcd file in the Program Files! EasyBCD will make changes to the file you select, the NeoSmart.bcd is a standard BCD template, and is NOT used by your system to find out where it should boot from.

Question: Are you using Windows Vista or Windows 7?
