EasyBCD vs EasyRE

I am working with a somewhat sticky problem involving Windows 8 (yes, I read that wonderful post here that's pinned). This is noncommercial but I am happy to spend $40 of my own money to get a tool that is useful (but not $80 to get both). There are two products on BCD, EasyBCD and EasyRE, which one should I get??
 
Yes, EasyBCD is free for non-commercial use but EasyRE is not. The latter is not a tool to control the boot menu, it is a tool for repairing a non-bootable or blue-screening OS.
