Error: EasyBCD failed to detect ...

Hi,
I could use some help. I started with a FAT32 WinXP partition on my netbook SSD. From there I installed Win 7 on an NTFS partition. MS created a dual boot system for me. After some time I managed to delete the Boot Folder. Using the repair tool on the Win 7 DVD I was able to recover booting into Win 7 only. Having some previous use of EasyBCD I installed it but was unable to create a dual boot system because of an error message: EasyBCD failed to detect a valid version of WindowsNT on the selected drive. I guess NT has been clobbered. I`m afraid to create more problems and lose Win7 but at this time I am eager to boot WinXP. Please provide me guidance so I don`t cause more damage. Thanks.
Dave
