Error opening BCD registry

I am running Windows XP on C drive as master on and IDE computer. I have Windows 7 on the slave drive F.

I downloaded and was going to use BCD to edit my registry so that on boot I would have a choice between loading XP or W7.

However, after downloading BCD, and opening BCD I get the following error:

Error Opening BCD Registry
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system cannot find the file specified.

Would you like to manually load a BCD registry from EasyBCD to manage? Please note that Easy BCD requires the Windows Vista/7 bootloader, and will not work in XP0only environments.

Now, question is, since XP in loaded as master, W7 as slave how do I get the BCD to work, or how do I get the W7 bootloader loaded in the BCD. Hopes this makes sense. Thanks.

Change the BIOS to boot from the other drive first. The BCD must be on the first drive in the boot sequence.
