Just had an idea inspired by using the GRUB2 rescue prompt and loading modules...
You can build your own modules (see here, so, how about including GRUB4Dos features such as map as GRUB2/Win modules? Don't know why they haven't done this with GRUB2 already (maybe they have and I don't know the correct modules? Don't think so though).
Anyways, that might save some chainloading of GRUB4DOS, and perhaps open up some possibilities.
