I am new to all this, so sorry if its already been asked.

i am about to install XP, then Vista and use EasyBCD for the dual booting options. - So when XP boots it says its on "C" and can see my data partitions "D", "E", "F", etc, and not see the Vista partition.
- So when Vista boots it says its on "C" and can see my data partitions "D", "E", "F", etc, and not see the XP partition.

i want keep my data partitions "D", "E", "F", etc... common to both op sys's.

is this possible and could some-one explain how to do this.

many thanks

See thread http://neosmart.net/forums/showpost.php?p=20441&postcount=5 for information about forcing the use of particular drive letters.
Mak's suggestion of using HnS (see sticky thread) will hide Vista from XP (necessary to protect Vista restore points), but you'll need to customize the output if you want to hide XP from Vista too (it doesn't do it because there's no need to protect XP from Vista).
What you want to do should be possible with careful planning and execution.
The link nested inside the link given, contains the advice from Vista Help on this subject.

Oh, and welcome to NST snr66.
