How is booting of ISO done?

Butt where is the actual config as to what iso file is being booted?

It's compiled into the ANG file in the root of the boot drive.

But still the question, it is editable? Like ie change the name of the ISO to boot?

EasyBCD edits the file by modifying the hex code directly (programmatically, of course).

You can accomplish the same in human-readable format by using NeoGrub and manually doing the ISO boot.
