How to banish Metro from your Windows 8 PC forever

My beef with 8 is when pairing Bluetooth...in the previous systems you could bypass using a passkey (useful with keyboards in a multi-boot scenario). Now you can't thanks to the so-called Modern UI.

I have a few other names for it which I wont repeat.

Been there, done that.
You don't need all the 3rd party desktop stuff though. Windows Live Mail still works exactly the same on the desktop as in W7, and you can just change the file associations from the Metro apps to their W7 desktop equivalents, like Windows Photo Viewer, Media Player etc.

There are some aspects of 'Metro' I use but I like my desktop too, Start button/menu so Start8 or similar was the way to go for me with Win 8.
