How to delete vista, keep W7?

Hi Royn.
Get EasyBCD 2.0 Beta.
Run it.
Use Diagnostic Center | Change Boot Drive to move the boot files to W7's partition.

Excellent, I was able to move the boot manager from old vista to new Win7 and then format old Vista with version 2.0 beta. Thank you, Thank you,,Thank you. This will be invaluable for the intrepid people migrating to a new HDD with Win7.

Great Job, Cheers

I am in the same boat but on ONE physical drive, new partition. I am using his words and amending the entry for my case as below.

I did a clean install of W7 to a different Partition, same disk than Vista. Ended up with a dual boot system, which I didn't want. Want to delete the vista partition (~140GB) to reclaim the space. Have read many web pages and tried several different things, from bcdedit to diskpart, none of which have worked.

W7 is the C: drive. Marked as boot, page file, Logical drive)
Vista is E: marked as System, Active, Primary partition.

Because vista is marked as system, cannot delete it. Below is what easyBCD shows:

Will easybcd let me delete vista? Any help greatly appreciated.

thanks

"Change Boot drive" will work just the same for 1 HDD as for 2.
You won't need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS though, because "system" will only change partitions, not disks.
