How to use Bios Extender?

Hi!

I have Windows XP installed on my laptop and I installed MacOSX on an external hard drive.
I would like to boot MacOSX from the external hard drive (my laptop's BIOS doesn't have this option) and I see that EasyBCD has a Bios Extender option. Could someone please tell me how to use it, cause I hit the install button for Bios Extender and it says it's installed, but when I restart there isn't any option of booting the Bios Extender.

Thanks in advance!

There are a total of 2 entries listed in the bootloader.
Path: C:\Program Files\NeoSmart Technologies\EasyBCD\profiles\NeoSmart.bcd

Default: Microsoft Windows XP
Timeout: 10 seconds
EasyBCD Boot Device: C:\

Entry #1
Name: EasyBCD BIOS Extender
BCD ID: {5ca0d856-911b-11df-a1a3-001b24a3f135}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr

Entry #2
Name: Microsoft Windows XP
BCD ID: {default}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \NST\ntldr

Why are you modifying C:\Program Files\NeoSmart Technologies\EasyBCD\profiles\NeoSmart.bcd ??????

OH...

EasyBCD doesn't support Windows XP-only systems.

You mean I have to also install Win 7 for it to work?...
What am I doing wrong about the bcd file?

Thanks for your patience!

There is no BCD in XP. It was invented with Vista.
You're playing with the proto-BCD inside EasyBCD
It's not an active part of your system and can't be used as any part of your boot.

EasyBCD modifies the Windows Vista/7 bootloader. Windows XP uses an old bootloader that is not supported by EasyBCD.

...And that's what I get for opening a tab and taking too long to reply. Terry beat me to it :smile:
