I have a win 7 machine at work that I need to keep as is. But i want win 10 for everyday use. So dual boot seems the way to go. In preperation
for win 10 I created a new partition on the w7 unit and then installed easybcd. Then under the edit boot menu tab I checked use metro boot loader
and wait for user selection. When I reboot the unit I DO NOT SEE a boot menu and it boots straight to w7.

Is this because there is only 1 OS at this time or did I screw up?
Afraid to proceed and loose access to w7.

You need to open EasyBCD which you can do in Win 7 by searching for EasyBCD.exe in the Win 10 partition and double-clicking it. In fact you can make a desktop shortcut to it in Win7 if you wish. (EasyBCD will open in any of the listed systems).
Change the time it waits before booting in Settings to a larger number of seconds or choose "Never" and choose the other bootloader instead of the Metro one. EDasyBCD should have been installed in the lower numbered system anyway.
If I am not clear it's because I no longer have a dual boot system, so use your own ingenuity.
