Internet connect

When I try to get on internet by wireless or dialup it will connect but not let me get to internet. When on wireless it says my connection is limited. When on dialup it will dial # , verify password then disconnect and dial next #. All was working well until it would not recognize the DVD drive so I restored it to an earlier date. It has not let me on internet since.

This sounds vaguely like something that happened to me years ago, before I really knew what I was doing with pcs.

Did you recently download and install something? If so, you may be a victim of an adware installation. (possibly newnotnet, it is an oldie, but still around) It can change your system and/or internet settings. If you haven’t tried to uninstall it, get Spybot, run it and see what it comes up with. Allow it to fix the problems it finds.
