You need to install .NET 2.0

On iReboot's 1st start Microsoft asks for permission to send them a .Net 2.0 problem report. Then I exit iReboot and start it manually. When I right-click the iReboot icon I see a thin grey band where the ubuntu 12.04 partition ought to be ...

Further to the above...

This PC has just one 80 GB disk with a bare-bone XP Pro dedicated to one application. It is connected to a KVM although usually runs "headless", booted by WoL (wakeup over LAN) and I use RDP (remote desk top) to use it.

The MBR boots to GRUB, WinXP is booted by default. Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop LVM is a backup VirtualBox host

iReboot requires the Vista+ bootloader. A PC with only XP on it won't work.
