Laptop with multiple bootable drives

I have a laptop with 64-bit Windows 7 installed. It has an eSATA connection to which I have attached an external caddie and for which I have two separate drives. Building the first of these to Windows 2008 R2 Standard goes without a hitch. When I swap this and build the second drive also to Windows 2008 R2 Standard, this too is fine - but I cannot swap disks and then boot from the first external drive.

Simple (?) questions:

o Can you have two identical OS's listed in the BCD? (I tried renaming one in EasyBCD but BCD really didn't like this)

o Can BCD support swappable drives as I have them?

Any insights gratefully received.

Hi,

You'll need to

1) Delete all 2008 entries from EasyBCD
2) From inside 7, connect eSata 1, and add an entry (eSata 1) in EasyBCD
3) Disconnect eSata 1, connect eSata 2
4) Add an entry (eSata 2) in EasyBCD

Should work.

Be *sure* to use EasyBCD 2.0 beta from EasyBCD 2.0 Beta Builds - The NeoSmart Forums and not the 1.7.2 release!
