win 7 boot comes up with error 0xc000000e
have no clue at this time how that happened,
the entire disk shows 'unallocated' in disk mgt...

hp pavilion g6 win 7 sp1 x64 st2000 2TB drive

five partitions on the drive, dynamic drive, pretty sure all partitions are intact,
drive has no errors, computer scanned twice for virus,
can the backup bcd be recovered ?

C: 470 GB boot ntfs
D: 20 GB recovery ntfs
E: 4 GB hp tools fat32
G: 1500 GB data ntfs
H: 200 MB system ntfs

peace

You could try
I've used it successfully (a long time ago) to successfully recreate the MBR partition table on a disk which had apparently disappeared into cyberspace.

If it doesn't work properly on Hiren's there are loads of other bootable recovery disks out there which include it.
You could just download the latest ubuntu (which includes it) and run it from a bootable USB stick
