Recovery problem

I just finished burning the Vista Recovery CD and am attempting to restore this Acer laptop. Bare with me, I'm a rookie here.
The computer will boot from the CD and I get the Install Windows window, select language. etc. However the keyboard is not working. I get as far as the System Recovery Options and can't select Repair and restart. The up and down arrows don't work and it looks like its stuck on View Details. I've been working on restoring this computer for 2 weeks! So close yet so far. Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
Is the keyboard/mouse wireless? Sometimes these things don't always work with boot CDs too well. Try switching up the ports or if it that doesn't work and it is wireless get a wired keyboard/mouse and use that instead.
