Remove Vista from Vista-Win 7 dual boot when system is on Vista - Same hard drive.

I apologize that this has been covered previously and I have read them. I want to be certain that in my situation I will be able to either remove Vista or use it for upgrade purposes with Win 7 being the boot disk:

Vista and Win7 are on the same hard drive. Vista was installed first and then Win 7 installed as dual boot. Both are primary partitions.

Vista is SYSTEM; ACTIVE; PRIMARY

Windows 7 is BOOT; PAGE FILE; CRASH DUMP; PRIMARY

If I read everything correctly, all I need to do is use EasyBCD (I have v2.2) and go to Backup|Repair option and click on CHANGE BOOT DRIVE.

Seems too simple. I would really appreciate confirmation.

Once that is accomplished, and I am booting from win7, I would like to also be able to dual boot from Vista i.e switch Win7 to be system. My purpose would be to move Win7 to an SSD and boot from it, and use the Vista instance as an upgrade vehicle to win8 and dual boot Win7 and Win 8
