Resize XP partition

I needed more space for one of my partitions (has XP already installed), so I shrunk the previous Vista partition by 8GB (using Disk Management) and was left with unpartitioned space. I was self-critical from the start, as I'd never done a Right-to-left partition resize/expansion before, and last time I tried to resize an XP partition (using Partition Magic), it stopped booting.

This time, I performed the resize using Acronisk Disk Director 10, as someone recommended. XP gets past the boot screen fine now, but gets stuck on the pre-logon pretty blue screen. There is no description of the current stage of booting (i.e. 'Starting Windows...'), just the Windows XP logo.

Anyone think of a quick fix? If not, I guess I'll just do a repair, non?
