Skip the boot menu unless a keystroke is pressed

I was wondering if there is a way to always boot to the default unless a keystroke is pressed at bootup? I have 7 and XP installed and they are both booting great. But I would like to always boot to 7 and skip the boot selection menu unless I hold a key at start up to get the boot menu. Like when you hold F8 to get windows. Is this possible?

If you put the timeout to 0, the menu won't show unless you tap the up or down arrow at exactly the right second (same as with F8 for advanced boot options).

If you want something a bit more reasonable, just set the timeout to 1 sec. It'll be too fast to notice except when you want it, at which point it'll be plenty long enough.
