Sound Problem

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, this is my first post :??

My friend gave me a webcam a while ago, but I never got it to work, but then just today, I download a vista driver for it, and it finished... but then my sound stopped working. when I go to the volume mixer, it shows that there is sound, but I can't hear it. I also tried to get sound with headphones and my speakers, but they did not work. I'm on a HP computer also
 
Use system restore to go back to the point before the software was installed. Test your sound to verify it is working again and than make sure you get the latest drivers/software available.
