System Restore Points Being Deleted

#1
I'm having a similar problem I had dual booting XP & Vista- restore points being deleted. I currently have Win 8.1 on my main hard drive. On a usb hard drive, I have Win 7. Whenever I boot Win 7, the restore points get deleted on Win 8. Is there a registry fix available as in the XP scenario ?

The same registry patch run in XP back in the day should work now in 7. It's a standard registry modification to unmount the drive for the other OS.

All Windows from Vista onwards are completely compatible with regard to restore points.
Only XP will screw with the later OSs.
If any single OS is losing its restore points, then it could be that there is just insufficient free space on the volume to be able to allocate any, or that the SR parameters are limiting the available space.
