My bootable USB runs but fails when I select any of the shown partitions. My I get the following error when I select my target partition, "The Selected Partition does not contain a valid Windows Installation". It further states that the volume may have been formatted and cannot be repaired.

The message is pretty self-explanatory - EasyRE isn't able to see any Windows installation on the partition you selected. What were you doing before your PC crashed?

I was resetting the computer to give to my sister. During the reinstall, the system hung up, and I eventually turned it off. After that it wouldn't reinstall.

Start another installation but format the disk before selecting it as the installation target.

You don't need to use the command prompt, you can do it in the GUI at the select a partition screen.
