I'm inside Windows 7. I'm trying to edit the boot order so Windows 7 is default. I get the following error after it prompts me for for the boot drive letter. Naturally, I selected C:\

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Line 1 "The store import operation has failed."
Line 2 "The device is not ready."
OK
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Troubleshooting steps i've complted so far include:

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd

The last option notifies me 0 instillation were detected. The other two were successful.

The last thing I tried was deleting the c:\boot folder and allowing EasyBCD to rebuild it. It recreated the folder and all files inside it, but it still displays the" store import" error.

I've searched the forum and Google, so far no one seems to have my "exact" problem. Any ideas? :lup:

Get the latest build from here. Never attempt to handle the boot files manually.

You need to look in disk management to find the partition with the "system" or "active" flags. This is where your boot files should be. If the partition doesn't have a letter assigned to it give it one and try to open EasyBCD again.

Now changing the default boot entry is simple. You can do this on the Edit Boot Menu page.
