Hi,

I've been having problems since I installed XP on a spare partition. My problem is that I don't go to the boot manager screen when I turn my PC on, it just boots straight up to XP. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running Vista Home Premium, 7 Ultimate RC, and XP Pro.

There are a total of 3 entries listed in the Vista Bootloader.
Bootloader Timeout: 30 seconds.
Default OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

Entry #1

Name: Windows 7 Ultimate
BCD ID: {3cc705a4-afe7-11de-9d78-a89c066fc0d5}
Drive: E:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows

Entry #2

Name: Windows Vista Home Premium
BCD ID: {default}
Drive: D:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows

Entry #3

Name: Windows XP Professional
BCD ID: {2b48053f-b04f-11de-b242-001cbf6fc612}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows

In Easybcd, click Manage Bootloader, make sure Reinstall the Vista Bootloader is dotted, click Write Mbr.

Hope it helps

You have also selected the wrong system type when you added the XP entry to the BCD.
You've selected the "longhorn" system (Vista, W7 etc) when you should have selected "NT, XP"
Use EasyBCD 2.0 latest build and after you've repaired the W7/Vista boot,
(installing XP after newer OSs will regress the boot to NTLDR which is incapable of booting Longhorn systems)
boot the longhorn OS whch is in charge and use Easy2 to delete your XP entry and add another, letting it auto-configure for you.
This is all covered in the sticky thread.
