Trouble with Dual boot vist x64 and Xp Pro x86

CAn anyone help me, I have 2 HDD's one with XP pro x86 and one with Vista x64. Now I Installed XP first, then installed vista. My trouble is that i dont get the Boot menu at the start, with Vista or Earlier version of windows, I find this strange because I have done this B4 and it worked fine, but i just did my Half yearly format and it wont load the boot menu, Ive tried booting from the vista dvd and fix startup problems, but it still just boots into vista automaticly.. can anyone please help me with this, ive tried everything with easy bcd that i can think of, but it justs deletes the vista bootloader as well and it cant repair it I have to go and boot off the dvd to fix it
