Use iReboot to boot to another/separate hard drive

Hello,

Just got on-board here

I have iReboot ver1.1. A really great tool I might add as I do not havce to go and wait for the OS selection during boot up to go the OS sekection of my choice in my dual-boot up.

Now in that particular system I am using also a drive which has Windows 7. Say, drive-A Windows 7, while drive-B (dual-boot with Windows 7 and XP SP3). A couple of questions please:

a) Assuming I am using the drive-B Windows 7(or drive-B XP SP3) and want to boot to drive-A Windows 7, how may I do that?

b) Does iReboot have that function?

If not,

c)...what can I use so I can do that? I seem to read that Acronis Disk Director can do that but it's not freeware. (Already shelled-out money for ATI Home 2011 as I need more backup functions other than the freeware backup can offer).

Triple-boot the Windows and put iReboot on all three. Multi-booting is not confined to a single HDD.
Just add the other W7 as an entry in your current dual boot BCD.

-- Thank you for the reply Terry  Well I got lost there....how may I do that..? I am not well versed with iReboot and BCD yet. Maybe with images if you may...? Please

Thank you

Have managed to add the other drive via EASY BCD>Add New Entry. Now when I shutdown and boot. I have a OS selection on the drive that has no other but Windows 7. I get the 3 entries prior booting. 2 Windows 7 and 1 XP. Is that what happens when I add that entry...?

Well usually (prior Easy-BCD/iReboot) I'd go t the the BIOS and do the selection there. If I wanna use drive-A (with Windows 7 only) or use drive-B (dual boot Windows 7 and XP).

So when I shutdown on drive-A and later boot again, I will always get that boot selection....?

Have not tried the other drive(drive-B --dual boot Windows 7 and XP) though. Maybe later and report back here.

Here is the "View Settings" I saved.

EasyBCD eliminates the need to do BIOS switching.

What you do now is leave the BIOS configured in a way where you see a menu with all 3 entries and all 3 entries work, install iReboot on all 3 operating systems, then in EasyBCD change the timeout to skip: http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Setting+the+Menu+Timeout

At that point, you can do everything should work OK. You'll boot directly into each OS, no menu. Booting into a different OS is done via iReboot.

Hello, Thank you for the reply. Okay will try that. Incidentally, isn't there a downloadable PDF of the guide...? I'd like to download and read it. Am not always connected to the internet so as muich as possible I'd like to read at spare time the guide and then ask here if I get confused or encounter something. Thanka again
