Vista - Boot folder on 2nd drive. Remove that drive. What happens?

My computer is running Vista SP2 32 bit and has 4 hard drives. One of the drives has XP installed on it and it was there when I installed Vista so there is a working dual-boot. The Vista Boot Manager is stored on the drive which has XP - I guess because that drive was 1st boot priority (it is IDE while all the others are SATA if it matters). C: in Vista has no Boot folder. The Boot folder is on D: in Vista which is the drive with XP.

Now I want to remove the drive that has XP but I am worried this will cause Vista to not boot. Below is the detailed view from EasyBCD. My instinct is to Reinstall the Vista Bootloader - Write MBR on the Manage Bootloader screen before removing the XP drive. Can anyone tell me if this is the right thing to do.

Hi Nat, welcome to NST.
You're very lucky.
Only a week ago Guru include a facility in EasyBCD 2.0 latest build just for you.
Diagnostics / Change boot drive
Point it to the Vista Partition.
Change your BIOS to put the Vista HDD first in the HDD boot sequence.
Do what you like with the XP drive.
