Hello all,
Im hoping someone can help me. After upgrading to Vista (via Windows Marketplace purchase of the upgrade), I decided to install Ubuntu Linux in a dual boot configuration.
Long story short, I had all kinds of issues and decided to nix the linux. However, GRUB still seems to be wanting to load and is causing all kinds of havoc with my boot process. I have used EasyBCD (among others) to restore the Vista Bootloader, but it hasn't fixed the problem.
I have determined that what I really need is Bootrec.exe out of the Windows Recovery Console, but...since I got my upgrade from Windows Marketplace, I do not have a Vista DVD from which to boot into the Recovery Console, nor are the files I do have suitable for burning to DVD (other than to archive them that is).
So...basically, I need to find a source for Bootrec.exe other than the Recovery Console (preferably a download somewhere).
