Vista Linux dual boot with MediaDirect 3.0 and Recovery?

Hi

I have an Inspiron 740M with Vista Home Premium (on C: ), MediaDirect and a Recovery partition (on D: ) preinstalled. Is it possible to install Linux, probably Ubuntu, without destroying MediaDirect and/or Recovery functionality? If so, how?

I have already used Vista to shrink C: leaving an unallocated region of approx 30Gb on disc, and I have downloaded EasyBCD 1.52 which I feel may be of use.

Any help appreciated!

Well, you'll have to add a new partition AFTER the existing partitions, making sure to preserve drive letters and numbers as they are to make sure that the recovery software continues to work.

Once you've created the new partition at the end of the drive, you may follow the Linux instructions at http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Linux

Good luck.
