vista recovery cd - will it work?

i am not very good with computers so help is much appreciated :smile:
a while back a friend of mine wiped my hp compaq presario with darik's boot and nuke and installed linux. it orginally had vista home starter on it and now i want to go back (i have a music program which need windows to run). i still have the original product code. if i purchase the recovery disk from systemdisks, will that get vista back? or do I have to buy a new windows operating system? i'm just trying to find a way to get windows back without spending to many $$

You should call your computer manufacturer and ask them to ship you a restore CD. You'll have to pay for S&H only, typically.

The SystemDiscs.com cds will not be of help
