Hello, i know this problem haas been posted before but the answer I found there did not help. After reading the other topic I updated to EasyBCD v2.0 Beta

I have installed "Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop" on my Vista machine. I followed the instructions to setup EasyBCD that i found on this website

But i keep getting the Error 17

Ubuntu is installed on a another partion, same HDD. Could the problem be that its looking for the kernal in the C: drive?

My menu.lst

Hi 1154, welcome to NST.
Using EasyBCD 2.0 (not 1.7), delete the linux entry then add it again without ticking the "grub isn't .." box

That "grub isn't...." box causes a lot of confusion (the necessity or otherwise, of ticking it has changed with the evolution of Linux and EasyBCD, but the text has stayed static) It's due for a major cosmetic overhaul to make it a lot clearer when it needs to be used, but in the meanwhile, that's what we're here for. Glad it's all OK now.
