Vista Windows Mail nervous breakdown??

The strangest things have been happening lately in Windows Mail. First I couldn't get Microsoft Newsgroup postings to group by conversation then I discovered that the setting under the View tab had been unchecked (not by me) from it's default setting - so then all was well.....yesterday.

Today Windows Mail has decided that all emails from the same source are "conversations" and is grouping them together.
I've never seen this phenomenon before. Snipping Tool image attached (that tool is so useful!!)

HELP..!!

Forget it...I had the darn thing checked in Mail as well as in Groups....DUH...!

Apologies to Makaveli but couldn't resist.

I made a mistake when I ported the smilies over to vBulletin and added it as :B, which is incorrect.

I think there is an option to disable smilies in your signature?
 
Well, I just changed the B-) smiley's code to

.... Too many cases where B) isn't supposed to be a smiley!
 
It is alright for using the image guys. I know that it is widely used and appreciated. I take no offense. Jsut remember that i am the original idiot.

Well alright so you do have me beat. I will give you that. But i have the advantage cause i grew up with PC's. You didnt. So that would make me the idiot. :grinning:

Just kidding. We are not idiots since we can at least figure out 90% of what we are trying to do.
 
Considering I was using WebTV this time 5 years ago....I think I've learned an awful lot!

I never saw even an electronic calculator until my final year in high school, let alone a computer, although we did go on a school visit to the National Physics Lab in the U. K. to see Eniac...LOL
It occupied an entire room, used about 10 kilowatts or more and broke down with regularity and couldn't even match your pocket calculator for speed.

One achievement that most Americans aren't aware of is that Britain had TV as long ago as 1922, but WWll sort of scotched it's expansion/development. The first thing I ever saw on TV was Queen Elizabeth ll's Coronation.

Memories....sigh!!
 
Wow..... I saw one of those computers in a museum, but am way too young to have seen it as a real thing.. I wonder if IBM's Big Blue is that big?

.....But what Mak said is right - that "Idiot Outside" doesn't really apply to anyone I've seen online! (well..... maybe SOME people, but no one here :grinning:). It's for the people that can't tell the start button from the clock and think Microsoft Paint is a portrait of a blank wall.

"Does your monitor have a power indicator?"

"What's a monitor?"

"It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"

"I don't know."

"Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"

"Yes, I think so."

"Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."

"Yes, it is."

"When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"

"No."

"Well , there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."

"Okay, here it is."

"Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."

"I can't reach."

"Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"

"No."

"Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"

"Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle it's because it's dark."

"Dark?"

"Yes, the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."

"Well, turn on the office light then."

"I can't."

"No? Why not?"

"Because there's a power failure."

"A power....... a power failure?.... Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now.

Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"

"Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."

"Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."

"Really? Is it that bad?"

"Yes, I'm afraid it is."

"Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"

"Tell them you're too friggin stupid to own a computer."
