Vista XP Ubuntu 8.10 Vista installed first tripple boot

My PC came with Vista (C: drive) installed I set up a second primary partition and installed XP - everything works fine in the dual boot setup using easy BCD (installed on Vista) to boot Vista and XP.

I have 1/3 of the (only) HD as unpartitioned free space on the PC, I want to install Ubuntu 8.10 into that space and make it tripple boot.

Rather than explain the dozen or so things I tried that didn't work when attempting to install 8.10 & tripple boot.

Will someone please tell me (most humble groveling in the dirt begging please) what steps I should take that will work.

I was using Windows 7, but it is almost exactly the same as Vista in terms of booting and such. You need EasyBCD to recreate the Vista Boot Manager in the MBR and add the entries. If you haven't already installed Ubuntu, you may try to see if GRUB will list all of the OSes. For me, I just stuck with the Windows Boot Manager.
