W7 / XP Dual Boot - Can't install XP on Partition

Hi, I've installed EasyBCD 2.1 on my W7 PC and now get the boot selection screen when I switch on (just the W7 option is listed). I'm trying to re-load my XP disc but the reader doesn't see it. Should I uninstall BCD and try again or will uninstalling BCD leave me unable to boot into W7? Thanks.

EasyBCD is a utility to help you manage the Microsoft boot manager/BCD.
It doesn't take any part in booting the system and it doesn't have a boot screen (that's MS's).
It doesn't affect the boot process whether it's installed or uninstalled.
Just installing EasyBCD will not have changed anything on your system.
If you weren't seeing a boot menu (you shouldn't with only one option), installing EasyBCD won't make one appear unless you used it to change something in the BCD.
Can you give a bit more detail about what you did, and what you're trying to do.

Thank you Terry, the problem was in the motherboard BIOS; reading from the CD on switch on was after the option to read from the hard drive. I altered the sequence and can now load XP. Baja
