Win7 shutdown problem

My system boots XP, Vista and Win7 Ultimate, which was recently installed. When I shutdown in Win7 the system closes, but the computer stays on. I know it is not the computer because XP and Vista have no problems turning off the computer. I can't seem to find a setting that actually controls turning the computer off during shutdown.

Right now I manually shut it down, but worried that someday I may turn off the computer before windows has finished its shutdown process.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I'd recommend going to your graphics card and motherboard manufacturers' websites (but mainly the former!) and downloading the latest drivers.

Have you been into Power options (advanced) and changed the default power button action from Sleep to Shut-down ?
