Windows 7 System Recovery Problem

Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read my plight. I recently downloaded a virus or some such that will not let me boot Windows 7. I just end up at the 'Startup Repair' which then "attempts repairs" over and over. I downloaded the Windows 7 recovery image and burned them on a disc. Then mounted my disc drive as main boot reference in BIOS.

My OS appears in the System Restore options, but after I select it and click next it just is stuck at this 'Startup Repair', never getting to the 'System Restore Options' where I could select a restore point.

Any adivce would be greatlly appreciated.

I have a 64 Bit OS Windows 7

Hi,

maybe you can try the "start up repair" option from your disc to fix your boot. If that works you can probably restore in win 7 itself. You need to do the start up repair action at least 3 or 4 times because it fixes only one problem at the time (MBR, bootmgr, boot folder). It can also be fixed in one cycle if you're lucky. Do you have a black screen when you boot? Check this tutorial for more info:

Hope this helps
