Windows Media Player/Dell Inspiron

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with a Windows Media Player 11.0. About 6 months ago I wiped my hard drive clean. I am unable to play dvds. The message states I need a decoder ????? Can you help me ????

Looks like you're using Windows XP Home Edition. Unfortunately, under normal circumstances you would need to purchase a program to do it.

However, VLC media player is your friend. Can play DVDs and various other media files on your computer for free.

No problem, I was just as frustrated getting that message. No reason why you can't use what you paid for.

I believe if you install KLite code pack, you can then play DVDs with Windows Media Player
