Windows SP2 Issue

If you can get into safe mode you don't need our recovery disk.
It's for fixing the boot process, not a broken OS (there are no installation files on it)
From safe mode do a system restore back to the point set by WUD before it started to put on SP2, then do the SP2 update again.

Hi Christopher3320,

Despite this hitch it's important that SP2 be installed so there are a few things one can do to ease the process.

I'll copy this over from my tutorial on McAfee Security Forums with some modifications.

Enable the built-in Windows Firewall.
  • Start/Control Panel/Security/Windows Firewall - turn it ON
  • Disable any firewall and antivirus software you have installed
It is also advisable to switch off any other tasks such as polling for mail and screensavers etc.
  • If you have any other protection software such as SpywareBlaster etc. turn off its protection too.
