I have an old machine and i want to set up dual boot xp with linux. Xp is already installed and i know the procedure for doing so. But Easybcd require vista bootloader and i dont have vista/7 installed on it so what do i do? I have win7 and vista installed on another system, so i can copy any files required. I need help to know which files to copy and where to.

EasyBCD 2.0 Beta

Get the latest release of the new EasyBCD 2.0 Beta. In there you see under BCD Backup/Repair there is an option to Re-create/repair boot files. This will allow you to install the BCD without having Vista/Win7 installed.

Will have to add entries for XP and Linux after you do that so it knows to boot to something.
