fdisk -l in linux rescue saying cannot open /proc/partitions.

this is the output of mbr.exe --list as told in one of the relevent topics.
Code:
C:\Program Files\NeoSmart Technologies\EasyBCD>mbr.exe --list
rawwrite dd for windows version 0.4beta4.

i tried with lots of choices in partition nos. in EASYBCD 1.52 hard drive and partition options in linux grub option but it only either gives a blinking curser in left-upper corner

and when i use NeoGrub to recognise old grub it redirects the screen back to Vista BCD.
What should i do now???
