XP will not boot in dual boot setup

New Member
I added an existing XP drive to my VISTA installation. Finally figured out how to get the dual boot choice screen to appear properly. VISTA boots fine when selected. XP will not boot. When I added XP to easybcd - it did not give me a choice of drive letters - C was grayed out and I could not change it. I added ntldr and ntdetect to the C drive root. Now all I get is a black screen. Please go easy on me because I am new to all this.

Hello sma2 and welcome to NST!

Read thru our documentation. It holds all the answers.

Read thru the troublshooting page. It tells you what is wrong when you only get a blank screen. Good luck.
