On startup of EasyBCD I get the message:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system cannot find the file specified.
Would you like to manually load a BCD registry for EasyBCD to manage? (Can't, I have XP)
I'd like to know what the "file specified" is (it isn't specified in the error message).
After reading other links on the subject, I have to make it clear that my XP OS has been created by a disk image. That may be one of the reasons for the failure here.
The only anomaly I found is:
I did a bootcfg /rebuild that ended up with a new boot.ini with two entries under [operating systems] pointing to two names for for 1 OS that reads:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional" /Fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
Thanks for any help...
