Change boot drive wiped out windows

I was trying to get a second SSD to boot and it was currently loaded as D:. I was going through the options in EasyBCD 2.4 and tried Change Boot Drive. Drive c:\ was the default so I set D:\ as the new boot drive and clicked ok. It wiped out the partition and left it unformatted. I was able to recover with testdisk. Is that normal and if so, why no warning and careful explanation of what will happen?

I just want to say that there are setting a new boot drive in EasyBCD can have serious consequences if not done correctly. Wiping out the partition and leaving it unformatted is not normal behavior and likely indicates an error or issue with the software. The absence of a warning or clear explanation beforehand may be due to a lack of user-friendliness or user interface design on the software's part. It's always recommended to backup important data and to thoroughly research and understand the potential consequences before making any changes to your system's boot drive. ACEFlare
