NTLDR is missing issue after upgrade to W7 from XP

Hello all, I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro 32 from XP Pro 32 on the day of release and ran into an issue with one of my drives.

I added a new drive to make my new default boot drive (H:smile: this is what windows 7 is currently installed and running on.

My old drive (C:smile: is what XP is installed on and I want to remove this drive but whenever I do I get the "NTLDR is missing press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

MY boot order is correct and I've tried using a copy of the Windows 7 repair utility to try to repair the drive but nothing has worked.

I downloaded EasyBCD and tried the Reinstall Vista Bootloader process but that did nothing.

Does ANYONE have a fix to this issue? I really want to get this drive out of my tower!

I noticed that within EasyBCD there is a add/remove entries tab and a option to remove the XP entry. if i do that and then repair the MBR will my issue be solved?

Hi Taylor, welcome to NST.
Use EasyBCD 2.0 latest build / Diagnostics / Change boot drive (point it to W7)
That will copy the boot files from the XP drive to the W7 drive,
Then change the BIOS to boot from the new HDD (or remove the old one)
