W764 Safe Mode OK, Locked up in Normal

While I'm awaiting official tech support for iso stick not booting, maybe someone has suggestions. Because SM works I have tried all diagnostics I know in W itself. This does not fit strict def of "boot problem" imo & I was not surprised bootrec passes tests. I almost thought unique problem, never reported, but it was reported briefly by someone here, then no follow up. Since I have SM maybe I could access ER tools on stick, but I would be working from within Windows rather than outside it. Is this doable?

If you can start a System Restore in Safe Mode that could feasibly be a way out.
Press Windows key and click R (or Run), type in rstrui and click enter when the correct item is displayed above, click it..

Yes, often good fix, but I tried early on. I recall there was more than one restore point option & I took latest one that predated my problem. Added to mystery here, it did not work. Now I go there & it shows no other points available. I know restore cannot be undone, but doesn't seem right older points would be erased?

Allocate a bigger percentasge of your HDD for restore points. The one you just used should be reversible.
